For more than six decades,The Touchdown Club of Oklahoma has been an integral part of the grand enterprise that is University of Oklahoma football. Sooner football was lagging in success and popularity when a group of Oklahoma business leaders took it upon themselves to form The Touchdown Club in 1947 to raise funds to provide scholarships and improve facilities.The group also used unorthodox methods to keep a young football coach, Bud Wilkinson, in Norman.
